20 years of experience with leading firms in auditing and business consulting. He is a co-founder of the
consulting concept Birzeit Consulting adopts and established Birzeit Consulting- USA, Dubai, Palestine,
and Jordan. The foundation of his work is an unshakable belief in the power of people—given the right
skills and environment—to create innovative solutions to even the most difficult problems.
He is an official representative of the Palestine Association of Certified Public Accountants (PACPA) in the
regional and international conferences and an accounting and auditing consultant for the PACPA as well.
Further, he is a technical consultant for several well-known auditing and business consulting firms.
Mr. Masoud's extensive experience covers the contracting, manufacturing, retailing, banking and trading
businesses and industries.

Dr. Valverde has over eighteen years experience in business. His learner-focused attitude and best

Mr.Qasim M. Qasim

Mr. Qasim is renowned banker in the Middle-East with over 40 years of experience with international and
local banks in the region. He has extensive experience in commercial and Islamic banking from the
leading roles he held in several prominent financial institutions. He spent a great deal of his career in two
of the largest and international banking institutions in the region, The First National Bank of Chicago and
Arab Bank PLC.
Throughout his long banking career, Mr. Qasim has held leadership roles as General Manager for major
commercial banks in Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan. Under his stewardship, some of the banks he headed
have achieved a major successful turnaround to being profitable institutions with stable operations. In
recognition of his achievements as General Manager, Qatar Central Bank “hailed Mr. Qasim for his role in
bringing one local bank to profitability in record time and managing it through a period of financial
difficulties”
Islamic banking is also an area of expertise that Mr. Qasim has mastered as part of his professional
track record. He was one of the few senior bankers engaged with Islamic banks at the early stages of this
industry’s development in the Middle-East region.
Back in the eighties, he participated in the foundation and was the first General Manager &CEO of Qatar
Islamic Bank, the first Islamic bank in Qatar and one of the largest Islamic banks in the region, with
current market cap. of around US$ 3.4 billion. He also held the General Manager position for Qatar
International Islamic Bank, the other Islamic bank in Qatar, were he lead both institutions to profitability
and contributed in shaping the Islamic banking industry in Qatar and the GCC.
Mr. Qasim is a frequent speaker in the topics of Islamic banking and corporate governance, and has
participated in several banking industry events and panel discussions in the region and abroad. He has
also written specialized papers and articles on the fundamentals and prospects of Islamic banking.
Mr. Qasim and Allied-LLC Advisors, Doha-Qatar, are the legal representatives of Birzeit Consulting ME in

Dr. Barihan A. Nabil, ACMA, PhD
Dr. Nabil has been in the accounting industry for over 20 years. She has a PhD in accounting and finance
from Loughborough University, Loughborough, UK and has been an associate of the Chartered Institute
of Management Accountants, London, U.K. since 1995.
Dr Nabil has participated in a number of accounting conferences in the UK, Jordan and Egypt on topics
relating to management accounting such as designing management accounting information systems
(MAS), organizational structure, and planning and control. She was also involved in teaching subjects
related to Islamic real estate financing through Islamic banks organized by Jordan Islamic bank.
She has undertaken extensive field research covering all Jordanian commercial banks in the areas of
management accounting information and information systems.
Dr Nabil is also a member of the editorial board of Accounting Education, an International Journal, U.K.
since 2008 and has refereed a number of research papers. Accounting education being a subject dear to
her heart, she finds great enjoyment and challenge in working with learners in pulling down
pre-conceived perceptions learners face with accounting topics, and in introducing them to the
enchanting world of accounting.

Robert Mckellar

Mr. McKellar has been a consultant for eight years, with cross-expertise in strategic marketing, growth
strategy and international business risk. He led teams in the capacity of Engagement Manager, and have
had oversight of multiple projects. His work spans research and analysis, workshop design and
facilitation, and training and development.
Mr. McKellar worked with a variety of sectors, including IT and telecoms, infrastructure, retail, financial and
professional services, as well as the public sector.
His international experience is perhaps unique. He has lived, worked and studied in North America, North
Africa, the Middle East and Europe. He is adept at learning new cultures, and at adapting to very diverse
environments. In addition, both of his post-graduate degrees were oriented towards understanding the
international context of business. Mr. McKellar is currently the Birzeit Consulting senior consultant in the

Dr. Muhannad A. Atmeh, JCPA, PhD
Dr. Atmeh graduated from the university of Newcastle, UK and has over 15 years of experience in the
fields of accounting and auditing. He has been an auditor in one of the big four auditing firms and
currently serves as a chairman of the accounting department in one of the prestigious Jordan
universities. He is currently a Birzeit Consulting senior associate consultant in Jordan where he is an
expert in internal audit, accounting information systems and internal control.

litigation (defense and plaintiff work).He also has an experience in merger's and acquisitions and

senior legal advisor to Anis F. Kassim Law Firm, Amman-Jordan. Mr. Kassim is a senior associate

Mr. AbulAdel graduated from University of Exeter, Exeter-UK in July 2003 holding a master of finance and
investment. He is and expert in the fields of financial investment and management, financial risk and
financial modeling. He has over 10 years of experience and served in the Central Bank of Jordan,
Amman- Jordan as an assistant economist / financial analyst.
